The short version: we use Google Analytics to see which stories get read, and nothing else. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't ask you to make an account.
Cookies
Analytics cookies only load if you accept them. Decline and no analytics cookies are set — the site works the same either way. You can change your mind any time with thelink in the footer.
We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's tags are told to store nothing until you say otherwise.
What Google Analytics collects
If you accept: pages viewed, roughly how you got here (a search, a link, direct), rough location from your IP, and general device and browser type. It's reported to us in aggregate — we can see that a story did well, not who read it.
What we don't do
No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. No newsletter, so no email list. No accounts, no comments, nothing that asks for your name.
Other people's links
Our stories link out to the outlets we read. Once you follow a link you're on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
