New England Patriots news, recapped and checked.
The business, the building and everything around the team.
Vrabel said the Patriots are signing Andrew Rupcich and Jacob Rizy to the practice squad, wouldn't reveal the emergency plan if a fourth lineman had gone down, and took the blame for the two fumbles.
Vrabel gave no timeline on Will Campbell, said A.J. Brown has a chance to return this week and confirmed the Efton Chism lateral was designed.
Drake Maye took the Week 4 honor for his 269-yard, three-touchdown game at Buffalo. The Raiders, 3-1 and winners of the last three meetings, are next.
Vrabel spoke on WEEI and then at Gillette on Monday. Across both he called one throw a terrible decision, rejected the word 'discipline,' and said almost nothing is going to change this week.
Every rate that improved between his first and second seasons has gone backwards. But New England is 12th in the league in yards per drive and last in points per drive, which locates the problem.
The Patriots coach told the Globe's Ben Volin 'you're not going to ruin my Sunday,' then came back the next morning with a detailed answer about Maye's decisions and the offensive line.
